Bjørn Barbesgaard

Bjørn Barbesgaard, born in 1957 in Denmark. In 1982 he joined Chase Manhattan Bank Copenhagen to later become Second Vice President within Nordic Institutional Banking. In 1989 he switched to Bank of America where he was appointed Vice President, Global Account Officer and later Managing Director of the Financial Institutions Group, Northern Europe, with a base in London.

In 1998 Bjørn joined Dexia Banque in Luxembourg initially in an advisory role to the CEO, including M&A activity, and in 2001 he became Director of the International Private Bank & Network Group. He was a board member of most foreign entities as well as Executive Chairman of various units including Dexia Nordic Private Bank. In 2004 he joined Nordea Bank S.A. as Executive Director and later as Managing Director for Nordea Investment Funds S.A.

Bjørn’s education includes law studies at the University of Copenhagen; Chase Manhattan Bank’s Graduate Program; and INSEAD’s Advanced Management Program. Bjørn joined iadvisors as MD of iadvisors Luxembourg S.A. on 1^st of July 2008.
